To ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth travel experience of all our clients, Brightravel has a clear and simple baggage policy in place. These guidelines apply to all local and international packages, including road trips, flights, and day visits.
Please review the details below before packing for your journey.
Each traveler is allowed 1 medium-sized suitcase or travel bag
(Max dimensions: 70cm x 45cm x 25cm / Weight: up to 20kg)
Plus 1 small hand luggage item (e.g. backpack or handbag, up to 7kg)
All bags must be clearly labeled with the traveler’s name and contact number
Avoid overpacking or bringing large items that may take up additional shared space
If your package includes road travel in a bus, shuttle, or private transport:
Space is shared, so compact, soft travel bags are preferred
1 large bag + 1 hand bag per person only will be allowed
No large coolers, extra chairs, or large equipment unless pre-approved
If you have medical or baby equipment, kindly inform us in advance
🔸 Excess baggage may result in an additional transport charge or may be declined.
If your package includes return flights (e.g. Zanzibar, Cape Town, etc.):
We follow the baggage allowance of the selected airline (e.g. FlySafair, Airlink, etc.)
Standard Checked Baggage: 20kg
Standard Carry-on Baggage: 7kg
No sharp objects or prohibited items in hand luggage
Check-in early to avoid airport delays
✈️ If you require additional baggage, please inform us in advance so we can assist with airline upgrades (extra fees may apply).
Pack light and practical clothing suited for your destination’s weather
Bring any medications and personal toiletries in travel-sized containers
Use zip-lock bags for electronics and chargers
Don’t forget swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, and a power bank
For the safety and comfort of all passengers, the following are NOT allowed:
Weapons, fireworks, or flammable substances
Alcohol (unless stated in your package inclusions)
Illegal substances or unprescribed drugs
Pets (unless pre-approved for private trips)
Oversized furniture or luggage
Brightravel is not responsible for loss or damage to luggage during travel
Ensure your bags are zipped, locked, and packed securely
For flight packages, any luggage disputes must be addressed directly with the airline
💡 We recommend travelers consider optional travel insurance that includes baggage coverage.
